I Thought I Could Do It All. I Was Wrong

I recently heard this saying from Naval Ravikant

You’re young and grinding to make a lot of money, and when you’re finally wealthy, you’ll realize it wasn’t what you were seeking in the first place.

So right now, I’m in a torn place.  Should I chase more money? Should I travel the world and explore everything it has to offer? Should I compete, win, be the absolute best? Or unlock my full potential? I would love an answer to the question. I thought I could do it all. Maybe I can. Maybe I can’t. But the more I try, the more I realize—there’s always something you have to sacrifice. You can’t have everything. Something, somewhere, must be given up.

So what Is it about? Is it about finding the right balance? The right balance for you?

I am a firm believer in the thing that there is no one right answer. Every answer could be right. I have read different books on how to live life—from Ikigai to others. But is it right? Is it that I want? Maybe it works for most people, but does it work for everyone? Is it going to work for me?

This post is not going to give you any right answer if you’re looking for one. It’s just my realization and what I found. Which is: what works for some may not work for you. What didn’t work for someone else may be exactly what you need.

And recently I’ve been seeing this reel a lot where it says: Life is not a race, there is no win or lose. It’s a journey, enjoy it.

And whatever you want to do in this life—make sure you put in the effort to do it. Let it be having fun or being the best at your job building something meaningful—whatever it is, take action. Try it. And make sure you don’t end up with regrets.

And this one, this one’s for me:

Have patience, brother. Take time, figure it out. Figure out what you want to do. There is no right or wrong way to live life. It’s all about how you want to live it. And yes, we are ambitious. We all have these beautiful dreams which are not easy to achieve. We all have a dream life, which is not easy to get. We can work hard to get close to it, but at the same time, stay in the present and enjoy what we have now.

The movies, the internet, social media—they’ve inflated our expectations so high that we’ve lost touch with what it means to be human. To enjoy the little things. To cherish what we have and who’s around us.

And to end this blog for now—

I would like to say we’re lucky that we and the people around us are able to see, hear, and talk and even be healthy. It’s time for you to get out of your head. Do what you think right now is right, do what you want to do right now. Go where you want to go, work for it. Whether you succeed or not is another thing. Just make sure to enjoy whatever you’re doing and have fun. So you don’t look back with regret.

Play to win but don’t forget to have fun and live.

Still, there are a lot of unanswered questions.

And maybe that’s the point. Maybe life is just about figuring out all those questions you had as a kid, as a teenager, as an old person looking back.

Maybe that’s what we’re really seeking. Answers

Cheers.

Let’s enjoy what we have right now.
